I was at Fernvale today. I just wanted to see the flat, to imagine what life would have been with him, but I didn't manage to see the flat. I saw constructed buildings that looks like my flat, but I was not sure. It was my first time taking the train there and the journey is about an hour. I cannot imagine having to travel so long to and from work daily. The place is more built up now, there is an NTUC coffeshop and some forms of life around it. I saw that a new project was in place, Fernvale Court and I really don't like the feeling of having so many buildings cramped together in one place. I'm not sure I'll like living there, it seemed like a great idea when he asked me, but somehow, the feelings are different now. The only thing that remains unchanged is the fact the he still is the love of my life, somehow.
On another note, I had a really hectic day yesterday. A secretary's conference at Meritus mandarin, followed by 10am meeting in office, then 2pm briefing at Hotel Intercontinental and 6.30pm networking night, by the time I was done and back in my bed, it was way past midnight. When I got into office this morning, I was so pissed. I was told that people were complaining to HR behind my back about my team not being there and nobody knew what happened, but nobody wanted to ask me.
My bad mood was softened by the 'thank yous' that were flying around for a well organised networking event the night before. It makes my job worthwhile and it feels good to be appreciated, except, why is it always the people outside who appreciate you more and the people inside who make things more difficult? Food for thought!
