Livejournal (LJ) is way too slow, so I'm writing this entry here first. For those interested in my LJ, you can find it
here.
Anyway, I went to the PC Show yesterday held at Suntec City Halls 601-604. It runs from 31 May 2007-3 June 2007. I went with the intention to get a 2gb SD card and an mp3 player, alas, my companions stopped me from buying almost everything and I am really glad they did. For mini items like the cards, prices are not much cheaper and one has to queue to get stuff, which in our humble opinion, is not worth our while. I was however enthralled by what the dealers had to offer for digital cameras. Pardon the adjective, I'm simply way too excited. I was browsing around for a digital camera, although my Ixus is still serving me well, simply because the Ixus is with dad in China and I needed a camera to get by. For as low as S$399, I can get a decent 7 megapixel camera with 3* optical zoom that comes in my favourite pink. That said, the freebies that were thrown in makes it more worthwhile. I was offered up to 6gb worth of SD cards and an extra battery. The miscellaneous items are not worth mentioning. I felt it was a good bargain, however, the companions did not think so. I guess, to them, I really don't need another digital camera and they are right too. The 2gb SD card which I wanted to get earlier was for my Ixus, but seeing how these dealers are giving away freebies, I figured the SD card can wait since I never ever used all of my 1gb anyway.
The PC show made me realise that after comparing so many lappies, the macbook still wins in terms of style and function. This is because, the pink Asus, even at a high price of S$3888 was sold out and the pink Vaio C doesn't come with the inbuilt camera. Indeed, the mac's software may be expensive, but the entire system is pretty much complete and I think I am resistant to changes cos the Windows Vista certainly didn't appeal to me too much. Give me the XP anytime.
And so, it is more RAM for the Fujitsu and a new macbook to complement what I have, that should complete me pretty much I think.
To end this post, I got a gift of an mp4 which I am desperately trying to learn how to use. Someone help me. Can an mp4 player play mpeg4 audio files? I can't seem to get it to work. Sigh...
